New and Exciting Disney Updates!

Disney parks are always expanding to enhance the magic for families of all sizes.  Well, they are at it again!  Here are some of the exciting updates to come in the near future:

A long time ago in a galaxy not so far away, Disney Imagineers dreamed about bringing Star Wars to the parks.  This is now becoming a reality.  Star Wars, Galaxy’s Edge, will be opening in Disneyland and Walt Disney World in 2019.  The lands are set in a remote trading port on the edge of wild space.  You’ll find yourself in the middle of the action either piloting the Millennium Falcon or riding aboard the Star Destroyer.  And what would Star Wars be without a local cantina?  Here they’ll be serving up unique drink concoctions including blue milk! Disney 2014 Late Fall Room Offer

WDWsignWalt Disney World Resorts announced today that they are offering  a Late Fall Room Offer! You can save up to 30% when you stay at select Walt Disney World® Resort hotels. This new offer extends the previous Fall Room Offer to the end of 2014 with stays most nights 10/4 – 11/25 and 11/29 – 12/23/14. So, if your desired travel dates were not included in the last discount offer, they may very well be among these!

To take advantage of this offer, you must make your your resort room reservation between July 23 – October 3, 2014. This offer can be upgraded to a package, allowing you to reserve access to select attractions and shows in advance with Disney FastPass+. The Disney Dining Plan can also be added to this offer to make your Disney vacation even more convenient!

You must travel between October 4 – November 25 and November 29 and December 23, 2014. A minimum stay of 1 night is required and a maximum stay of 14 nights is allowed with this offer.

Here are the actual discounts.

  • Save 15% off at a Value Resort
  • Save 20% off at a Moderate Resort
  • Save 30% off at a Deluxe Resort
  • Save 30% off at a Deluxe Villa Resort

The number of rooms allowed for this offer is limited. Pricing and savings will vary by resort type and date, as savings are based on the non-discounted price for the same room. As with all Disney promotional discounts, some resorts, room types and date combinations will not be available.

The Late Fall Room Offer is excluded at the 3-Bedroom Villas, campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, The Little Mermaid Standard Rooms, The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, and Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

September 05 – September 06, 2014 you can attend Night of Joy. Experience a Christian music festival with performances by superstars in rock, pop and gospel. This concert takes place at the Magic Kingdom from 7 pm- 12 midnight.

Next up is Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party! The tone of the party is “not-so-scary,” which means children of all ages can enjoy it. This special event is held on select nights in September to October—separate event tickets can be purchased in advance. Party between the hours of 7 pm – 12 midnight.

To get in the Christmas spirit, there’s Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas PartyThis event requires a separate ticket for certain nights during November and December. Enjoy the Christmas party from 7 pm – 12 midnight.

Let’s start with a Room discount. Between August 16- October 3, 2014 you can save between 15% – 30%. You can pick to stay at a value, moderate, deluxe, deluxe villas. The amount of savings depends on which resort you stay at and your travel dates.

Walt Disney World Attractions You Won’t Find At Disneyland

800px-Walt_Disney_World_Resort_entranceI’ll be honest… one of my biggest Disney pet peeves is when folks confuse Disneyland with Walt Disney World.  And this is further intensified when I point out their error and they respond with, “Well it doesn’t matter because they’re both the same anyway.”  Oh my, that gets me going!  They truth of the matter is that, while both parks are wonderful and magical and have lots of similarities, there are many, many differences between the two.  And while I could write a whole book on the differences, I’ll limit this to just a few that I think  you should know when deciding whether to visit Walt Disney World in Florida or Disneyland in California.
