Walt Disney World Attractions You Won’t Find At Disneyland

800px-Walt_Disney_World_Resort_entranceI’ll be honest… one of my biggest Disney pet peeves is when folks confuse Disneyland with Walt Disney World.  And this is further intensified when I point out their error and they respond with, “Well it doesn’t matter because they’re both the same anyway.”  Oh my, that gets me going!  They truth of the matter is that, while both parks are wonderful and magical and have lots of similarities, there are many, many differences between the two.  And while I could write a whole book on the differences, I’ll limit this to just a few that I think  you should know when deciding whether to visit Walt Disney World in Florida or Disneyland in California. Disneyland History and Discounted Rate

Disneyland History Disney News Walt Walking in DisneylandThe Disneyland history is interesting.  Disneyland Resort is where the Disney theme park magic starts.  Walt Disney said, “Disneyland is the star, everything else is in the supporting role.”  I wonder if he envisioned the Disneyland Resort of today.  There are three Disneyland Resort Hotels to choose from.  They are all walking distance to each other. They are also walking distance to California Adventure theme park and Disneyland theme park.  In between the two theme parks is the Downtown Disney District.  It is a thriving area. You will find magical Disney fun around every corner.   Continue reading Disneyland History and Discounted Rate

Disneyland! Mickey and the Magical Map

Videopolis in DisneylandThe Fantasyland Theatre opened as Videopolis in 1985.  Videopolis was the place to see shows during the day and dance to music at night.  The venue changed gears in 2009 when it was re-named Fantasyland Theatre.  Now it will see another change.  Mickey and the Magical Map is the newest show getting ready to  open in Disneyland.  The opening is set for summer 2013.  The Fantasyland Theatre is being refurbished for this new show.  Today’s new technology merges well with the traditional outdoor  feeling at this theatre.  This will be a welcome transition. Don’t forget about Disneyland.

When people say “I am going to Disney”, I bet you think of Walt Disney World in Florida.  But remember: there is a whole lot of magic still to be found at the Disneyland Resort.  This is, of course, where it all began.  This is where Walt Disney himself walked.

It might not be as big as Walt Disney World, but it is still worth the visit and you may just fall in love.  I did.

Having the Disneyland Park, California Adventure Park and Downtown Disney all within walking distance of each other is just so convenient… add the Disney Hotels into the mix, and you have a perfect fit.   Continue reading Don’t forget about Disneyland.
