Once again Disney is making it even easier to plan your next vacation adventure. For a limited time, Disney is offering the availability to book an Adventures By Disney vacation while you are on board the Disney Fantasy. And, in true Disney style, they are even offering a 10% discount when you book your vacation while on the Fantasy. What does this mean to you? It means before you even end one vacation, you already have a future one in the works! Right now this is in the test phase and will be ending shortly, however, it’s entirely possible that this will become a regular option on the Fantasy as well as on Disney Cruise Line’s other ships. Disneyland was the first theme park Disney opened, and Walt Disney was the driving force behind that theme park’s family feel. His dream was to build a place that catered to the idea of family bonding; a place for families to be together and have fun. Disneyland did not fully fulfill Walt’s dream, though. He saw the need for more space, and a second theme park and found what he envisioned in Florida. “Here in Florida, we have something special we never enjoyed at Disneyland…the blessing of size. There’s enough land here to hold all the ideas and plans we can possibly imagine.” The initial idea Walt had, for families to fully escape the outside world and be immersed in a vacation, was about to expand into the future.

Lesson 1 on Disney vacation family bonding starts with Disneyland and the dream Walt Disney had. He wanted to build a theme park that would cater to families, a place where the illusion of being away from it all existed. “I don’t want the public to see the world they live in while they’re in the Park. I want them to feel they’re in another world.” Every Disney vacation family bonding experience and memory that exists over time all can be traced back to Walt Disney’s first theme park dream; Disneyland.
Walt Disney always put his family first, and believed that family values were very important. He was certainly a very important business man, and it is his amazing imagination that is behind the huge Disney empire that exists today. Even though he was so driven in business, his business was not first on the list of his life’s priorities. He said, “A man should never neglect his family for business.” Another quote attributed to Walt Disney is, “We believed in our idea – a family park where parents and children could have fun- together.” Continue reading A Disney Vacation Makes Magic For Family Bonding
Epcot For Kids! Have I convinced you yet that there are plenty of fun things in Epcot for Kids? We explored almost all of Epcot in the last three parts of my Epcot for Kids articles. Today, let’s finish our tour in Future World. How about a journey through space? Epcot has some fun attractions, and Mission: SPACE is one of their newer and more exciting additions. There is a height restriction of 44″ on this ride. So, the actual ride is not for the smaller children. In true Disney style, though, even Mission: SPACE has an area that the younger ones will enjoy. I have spent some time exploring Walt Disney World’s Epcot For Kids fun. I started in The World Showcase, in Epcot For Kids Part One, and that was very inspiring for me! The fun continues today as I report to you that Disney has made a change to the family Epcot for Kids fun available in the World Showcase. Say hello to Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure, which debuts this summer in Epcot. Your Disney friends Phineas and Ferb have a pet platypus named Perry, and Perry the Platypus has an alter ego that will delight you in this game! In their Disney Channel show each episode is centered around the fight against Agent P’s nemesis, Dr. Doofenshmirtz. Sounds like a perfect fit for saving the World Showcase, I’d say.

As we began our exploration of Epcot for Kids, in Epcot For Kids Part One! World Showcase Fun! I imagined I was writing one article. As I virtually walked around Epcot, my imagination soared, and quickly my one article was re-imagined into a series with a child-like, fun look at Epcot for Kids. Welcome to Part Three where I will take a further look at Future World, and we will meet Disney characters and explore the Innoventions Pavilions. Let’s start out on our adventure, walking back to one of the pavilions we explored in Epcot for Kids Part Two. Let’s head over to The Land pavilion to meet Farmer Mickey Mouse.

Epcot for Kids! In my last article, about Epcot for Kids, I explored The World Showcase. It was lots of fun, and had so many things that kids would enjoy when a family is visiting Epcot in Walt Disney World. Today, in Part Two of my Epcot for Kids series, I am going to explore a section of Future World, and see what Epcot for Kids has to offer in that area of the theme park.
The first thing we pass, as we leave The World Showcase and walk toward Future World, is a fun spot for cooling off. How many times have you seen little ones running through these, giggling and laughing? And, how many times have you, as an adult, wanted to run through the water giggling and splashing? Continue reading Epcot For Kids Part Two! Future World!
I am asked often if there is anything for kids to do in Epcot. So many people look at this Walt Disney World theme park as being only adult friendly, but there is so much at Epcot for kids to do. Walt Disney World is ageless, and every theme park has something that will appeal to every age. Epcot is no exception. In fact, I am always ready to answer the questions asked about whether an Epcot for kids day is possible. Epcot is all about being ‘kid friendly’, because in my opinion this theme park is the most well rounded theme park experience a kid can have!
