It was a busy week at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as we saw the opening of five new experiences at the park. In anticipation of some major additions coming to Hollywood Studios, many old attractions had been closed, leaving large vacant spaces within this park. Change takes time. Little by little, those empty spaces are being filled. Here are some new things that you can look forward to right now when you visit Hollywood Studios. Continue reading 5 New Experiences Now Open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
In the words of Walt Disney, “Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.” I believe this is true for Walt Disney World as well. And in the past few days, that sentiment has proved true once again with the big announcements about some fun new things on the horizon for both parks. And, while some folks will feel sadness because this will mean change, and even removal, of some beloved areas of both parks… remember that this is truly part of Walt Disney’s dream. So let’s have a look at some of the big happenings on the horizon of a ‘great big beautiful tomorrow’. Continue reading Big Happenings At Walt Disney World and Disneyland!

I check My Disney Experience every day. Today it told me I have 19 days until my Disney magical vacation in Walt Disney World! It shows Mickey Ears with my initial on them! All of my Fast Passes are listed. These Fast Passes are connected to my Disney Magic Bands. The My Disney Experience is the vehicle you will use to pre-arrange Fast Passes. This is going to be a fantastic perk for planners. I am having the most fun with arranging my Fast Passes! I am allowed three days of Fast Passes. You will be allowed to choose attractions from one park for each day you have tickets. We decided to do two days at Magic Kingdom and one day at Hollywood Studios. Magic Kingdom seems to have higher crowds lately and I want to be sure I experience my favorite attractions there. I found some fun ways to work with the times on the Fast Passes. You do not have to keep what you are first given. There are a few ways to fine tune your Fast Passes. This will be helpful if you are working around dining times already arranged. Continue reading Disney Magic Bands ~ Fast Passes!
Disney made it official this week. Walt Disney World’s newest theme park is going to be improved. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park will see changes in 2014. The Festival of the Lion King at the theme park is getting a new home. The area where the Festival of the Lion King is currently run is going to be the beginning of Avatar Land. Camp Minnie Mickey will cease to exist. Of course, we know that the area has been sitting for a long time waiting for something. It was a fun area to visit with characters, but seemed to be wasted space. The crowd flow was pretty awful there at times. It would get very congested when the Festival of the Lion King show let out. Disney will be changing all of that. Continue reading Animal Kingdom Lion King Show Moving
Robert Sherman knew the value of a family vacation. He took his family to Disneyland many times. Their family trips to the Happiest Place on Earth started before the Sherman Brothers were creating music for Disney attractions. The photo shown on the left is of Jeffrey Sherman and his mother Joyce. Robert Sherman took the picture. This classic photo is a favorite of Jeff Sherman, Robert Sherman’s son. The attire might change over generations, but the family vacation magical moment stays the same. Look at those smiles. Can’t you just hear the Dad saying, “Smile!” That Dad happens to be one of the famous Sherman Brothers. On the day that picture was taken he was husband to Joyce and father to his kids. He was creating magical memories. The value Robert Sherman placed on his own family time was so genuine. It was a gift he passed on to us. His creative vision would provide happy family vacation memories in a timeless way. Continue reading Robert Sherman ~ small world after all
