Musical Fun in the Walt Disney World Sun!

Disney SOunds Like Summer OLP TravelDisney has some musical fun in store for us this summer in Walt Disney World!  The weather might be hot while you are visiting the Walt Disney World theme parks, but I promise the beat of the music will make you feel so happy.  For starters Disney will again present the Sounds Like Summer Concert Series!  This annual event takes place at Epcot in Walt Disney World.  If you want to go back in time, and hear some classical songs from the past, you will find this to be enjoyable for you.

Disney Sounds Like Summer OLP TravelThe Sounds Like Summer Series starts this weekend with Hotel California: A Salute to the Eagles, and runs through July; June 10 through July 28, 2012.  The different Tribute bands will be performing daily, and your ticket into Epcot will allow you to see the show.  The concerts are held at the American Gardens Theatre in the World Showcase, at Epcot.  Show times are 5:45, 7 and 8:15 p.m. – except on July 4 when show times are 5:15, 6:30, 7:45 and 9 p.m.  I promise, you will sing-a-long for sure!  Here is the schedule, which is always subject to change.

Disney Nova Era OLP TravelOn your next visit to Walt Disney World, when you head to Downtown Disney to shop, be sure to plan time to meander around Downtown Disney to experience the unique feel of this shopping venue.  It is festive always, and there are different street performances that happen.  If you are there Thursday through Sunday, and you are strolling by Fulton’s Crab House, you might be fortunate to experience an amazing  musical group called Nova Era; a trio of classically trained musicians.

Disney Nova Era OLP TravelNova Era performers may be dressed in 18th century attire, complete with white wigs.  Or, they might be dressed simply all in black.  They perform updated Mozart, Vivaldi, Beethoven and Bach by adding drums, electric bass, and keyboards to traditional string instruments.  It is an experience you will not forget.

It is always a good idea to take it easy when touring in Walt Disney World in the heat.  So, when you are down in Disney World this summer feeling the heat, just sit back and enjoy the music for a while!
