Disney has officially announced another fun and exciting experience added to Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World! A new role playing game called Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom is coming to Magic Kingdom! The Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom will be played throughout the Magic Kingdom, with the headquarters will be in the now closed Main Street USA Fire House.
Trademarked back in 2010, this exciting new game will make use of the RFID chip technology. Disney is using this RFID chip technology more and more lately; refillable mugs in Walt Disney World will all have RFID chips. The Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom game will work very much like the interactive game on the new Disney ship, The Disney Dream; you carry a card that has an RFID chip in it, and you interact with pictures that are hung around the ship.
The premise of Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom is to save Magic Kingdom from evil. Are 
you ready to join with Merlin the Magician to defeat what Disney describes as an army if Disney villains? Merlin will be recruiting guests to help. There will be maps and clues to find around the Magic Kingdom. Not all the details have been announced yet, but Disney is saying that this new game will be ready to play in 2012!
On your next trip to Adventureland you may see signs of the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom game. In different areas of that land, there are big crates and some empty spaces showing up. These are part of the new game.
Disney keeps it new and fresh for us, that is for sure. I know that this game is going to thrill guests young and old. Epcot has Kim Impossible, another fun game that uses RFID technology,. I wonder what Disney might have up their Imagineering sleeve for Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom?
