Fantasyland as we know it is changing, and from what was announced at D23, the new Fantasyland is going to be awesome!
The newest roller coaster at Magic Kingdom is coming to Fantasyland! The Seven Dwarfs Mine Coaster will open some time in 2014! This will be an amazing attraction where guests will ride through the Seven Dwarfs diamond mine. The new ride system, designed by Disney Imagineering, shows again how amazing these creative minds are. Each car will swing back and fort individually as the train twists and turns along the track. You can see video of what this amazing ride will be like on the Disney Parks YouTube.
Another new addition to Fantasyland, Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid, will have a scavenger hunt in their queue! Scuttle will be there, and in the virtual scavenger hunt guests will collect ‘whoozits and whatsits galore’.
Belle’s Cottage will be another interactive experience in the new Fantasyland. This sounds
so much fun. Guests will interact with Lumiere in the queue. This was quite the challenge for Disney Imagineers, but they were ready. Lumiere is very small, probably the smallest animatronics they have created yet. I think this is going to amaze us. Disney is making waiting in line fun!
Cinderella’s Castle, with Cinderella’s Royal Table, won’t be the only castle in Fantasyland anymore. The Beast’s castle will be very prominent and there will be new dining experiences. Gaston’s, for one, billed as a place to dine in splendor and pay tribute to the manliest of men, Gaston! Guests can dine in three separate dining rooms in the Beast’s castle. The main dining room is the Ballroom, where Belle and Beast had their first dance, in the West Wing or in the Castle Galley during lunch hours. Somewhere in the new Fantasyland there will be an Enchanted Forest to explore; sounds like fun!
Fly over what the new Fantasyland will look like in this amazing video, also on Disney Parks You Tube.
The excitement is building and I personally can’t wait to experience the new and improved Fantasyland at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom!
